I have been offered an incredible opportunity to serve God in an unexpected way and place. Since we went to South Korea in June, I’ve been praying that God would open some doors for me; doors leading to more service and more experience with what He is doing there as well as the chance to spend more time with the people I have met. I was excited by the prospect of traveling with Benny Hagie in October 9th, but obligations here prevented that from being possible. On August 24th, I was especially burdened and was directed to several scriptural promises of God.
I Thessalonians 5:16-17 – “Rejoice always! Pray constantly.”
Matthew 21:22 – Speaking of God centered faith, Jesus said, “And if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
We struggle with that particular promise. For fear of treating God like a genie, we often fail to take it to heart. But God was telling me to count on it.
Matthew 19:26 – (Again Jesus’ words) “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
I turned my burden over to God and prayed, believing. I prayed, “God, You know my heart and my desire. Please supply this need in ways that only you can.” I prayed that night (Sunday) and all the next day. On Monday afternoon, Benny Hagie called me. He asked, “Have you ever considered going on a short term missionary excursion? There are two English speaking congregations in Daejeon, South Korea that need help.” I was stunned. God answered my prayer by throwing open the door and saying, “Here you go. Now, how serious are you?”
The English speaking congregations are sponsored by large Korean churches and need English speaking leaders to lead and train them. One congregation especially needs help in Worship Leading and Evangelism. Isn’t God amazing? He sees two needs and puts them together to satisfy both. God knows I desire a neon sign, and He has given me more than that this time. I’m asking you to send me to follow God’s leading and participate in this mission.
This mission will be for 3 months. The target date for departure is November 3rd with a return on February 2nd. There are a number of unanswered questions concerning my responsibilities here. Several of you have already expressed excitement about this and have volunteered to step in and fill the gap. Also in question is the level of support the church will provide me while I’m gone. The Finance Team will present a recommendation at the regular business meeting on Sunday, October 12th.
God is calling us to partner in this effort. I’m certain He has growth in store for all of us through this mission. I’m asking that we all pray and seek God’s will in every aspect of this opportunity.

Hey Jeff,
I know everyone teases you about being "organized". But I have to say that is one of qualities about you I really admire. Your focus is strong and it really is an example of how we need to stay focused daily. Thank you for being yourself. God is doing amazing things in your life and you can really see it. I just want you to know that the Jones family loves you and pray for a safe trip there and a safe quick return. Keep being yourself.
